The fit is good - but I can hear threads snapping when I put it on.

A very flattering design with the boatneck and it dresses up a regular t-shirt neckline. Beautiful fabric and good length to sleeves and body which makes the shirt very comfortable.

I needed a new "basic top", opted for this instead of my usual crew neck and I love it. Fits great, looks good, and it is super comfortable.
I was disappointed in the fabric choice for the current Modern t-shirt style. I have several older incarnations of the same label, but this one (and the other two I bought in dif colors) are weirdly clingy and more of a cold fabric. I just did not like the way the t-shirt felt on my skin and sadly returned all four t-shirts.
The perfect thickness and stretch. Skims the body beautifully. I have one (or two) in every color....even some they no longer sell. Wish Gap would offer more colors again.

Not a good fit. The 'boatneck' as designed and constructed wouldn't lie flat against my neckline. Would not recommend. Returned.
I buy a lot of clothes from the gap and have never had so many issues with your clothes as I have now starting with my December order. These boatneck shirts have shrunk and some have even had the stitching come undone. The previous years boatneck shirts I still have and they are sturdier quality and these are subpar, thinner and they have shrunk.

I am 5ft 2 around 120lbs and found that the xs petite fit well. The fabric is so soft and comfortable. A great staple. Would recommend.
Really flattering cut, soft fabric. Neckline is *just* still narrow enough to wear a bra with straps.

I recently bought 4 of these to replace my old Modern Boatneck T-shirts but I am disappointed as these are shorter and keep riding up. Otherwise, I would have rated them 5 out of 5. 😞
I've been buying this same shirt in different colors for years. The material has the perfect amount of stretch and is thick which is difficult to find nowadays. The material lays nicely, feels great & is so comfortable.
I absolutely love this tee. The neckline is super flattering. The top is fitted, but not tight, with just enough stretch to keep its shape without looking like workout wear. I want more.

Deep colors that don't fade, soft cotton that does not get stretched out and a perfect fit. I appreciate that they come in petite! I have all the different styles and many colors of all the modern ts. It's great to have a t-shirt that I can dress up or down and don't swim in. I hope these shirts stay forever!
Great basic tee! Super soft and long enough for me. I'm only 5'7 but so many things are cropped now it's harder to find longer tees.

These shirts are perfect. Soft cotton that doesn't shrink. A fitted silhouette that holds its elasticity during the day.
Mis-sized. And not the first time. Sent it back.
Bought this to replace the one that I recently had to stop wearing, because the elastic got stiff and broke all over the shirt, but that was after 3 years of frequent wear/washing in the winters and storage in a box over the summers. So I will not vouch for the longevity of this shirt. However, while it's still in it's prime, it's a fantastic piece of clothing. The boatneck is so elegant and the body is flattering. The Tall size is a godsend. Modal/supima blend is great. And the sale price is a great value.
This T-shirt is well made, fits to a T and the boatneck has a great line that compliments the shoulders!

So soft and it is fitted. I love this top and bought it in 4 colors. I'm 5'3" 115 lbs 32D and bought XS. I am a huge fan of boatneck anything.

Easy wash
I have three colors because I love this shirt. The fabric is thicker and more substantial than other shirts. The neckline is beautiful and flattering. The sleeves and the body are long. I love the slim fit because it doesn't add extra girth to my body. I haven't had any shrinkage issues because I hang dry after laundering. I understand the reviewer that said she felt "devotion" toward this shirt. It deserves to be adored because it will make you feel fabulous.
Fits perfect
Long enough to tuck in or leave out over the hip. The Boatneck is a little higher than I expected, but serves my purpose. What I like most is that it fits snug but not tight and is soft.
Love these tops. They are opaque, no cami needed. The neckline is very flattering, especially if you are a little pear-shaped. The medium tall fits me perfectly, longer in the sleeve, longer in the torso. These look cute casually, and randomly, tucked in at your waistline, not all the way around. Tres hip. Fabric is nice and its weight is above the t-shirt level, with more heft, but not too warm for Florida.

Very versatile
I love the boatneck style, so I snapped up four of these shirts. The fabric is super soft. I bought size small, and it fits well. Though the sleeves are loooooong. I am 5'4" with (I think) regular length arms. I have to turn the cuffs under about 5cm. Shirt length is good for tucking or not. I wish there wasn't a tag in the sideseam. It was super irritating until I cut it off. Despite these criticisms, I obviously like this shirt (four colours... looking for more!)
I ordered the long sleeve boat neck and the crew neck shirts in black, white and grey. Love them! So soft! And finally a crew neck that is actually crew and not scooped. I always buy my t-shirts at gap. And I will continue to do so!

Love everything about the modern T's. They feel very soft, I will be getting every color! I've learned that I can size down with these shirts as they are slightly stretchy.

Nice thickness, though white still needs an undershirt. Very soft and seems of a quality which will last a long time. Always a sucker for boatnecks, wish this came in more neutrals!

I've bought loads of these in the past few years, and I love them. The neckline is very attractive, and they're made of nice cool cotton, they look good with jeans or dress them up for an evening out or smart work wear. Highly recommended.

Let's face it a boat neck T-shirt is just a notch up from a regular T-shirt. I own them in every color and love the look of black T with black pants, blue T with jeans or white T with white linen pants. This shirt washes well and looks good 10 washes later. Runs true to size and doesn't shrink in the wash.
I love this style of long-sleeved T. I have two in black, and just added pink, grey and another black. The fabric is soft and comfy. I can dress them up or down. Fabric on the black on seems a bit different and shiny than on the previous ones, but I haven't worn it yet.

Material is crazy thin and you can see the outline of my belly button. Love the color and the fit so sizing up would not have helped. If the material was slightly thicker/more structured like previous years I would be back to buy more… I love boatneck tops!
Petite size M has correct length for sleeves and shirt. But body ox shirt is too tight.
I thought I'd try the boatneck T again but they still are making them with some material that feels like yucky polyester. It's stretchy and soft but I just can't get past the polyester feel of it. Back it goes.
These are my favorite tees! Short sleeved, long sleeved, boatneck, crewneck, they are so soft and not too heavy, but thick enough to cover up what's underneath!
Fits true to size with a little room so you could easily size down if you're between sizes (all depends on how you like your fit). The fabric is soft and yummy to wear

I have several colors in this . It's thick enough material where it's not see thru . It gives a classic look to pants , shorts , and skirts . Very simple and you can dress up or down .

This boatneck tee is not the usual GAP quality. I've bought these in the past and this new product is very disappointing. So sad because the prior product was awesome.
I have this same model top in three different colors and thought I was getting the same type, just in black. It is the same boat-neck type, but the material is "slinky" and always feels coolish to the touch - very unlike the softer cotton of the others. I am keeping it because the fit is nice and The holidays call for a black too now and again (the price was excellent too) but I would have never purchased it has I had a chance to feel the material.

Love these cute comfy Shirts. Can be worn casual or dressed up a little. Super comfy and stay nice after a few washes so far.
This top is my everyday favorite to wear with jeans or any other bottoms. The colors are great, don't fade and hold up nicely through many washes.
Seems to run snugger than my others ones preciously bought. Still fits though and will keep seeing so inexpensive during sales.

I have a few of these from a few years ago and love them. I feel like the material of this one that I just got isn't as soft. It's still nice though, and I love the boat neck. Unfortunately came with a noticeable hole in the stitching so I will need to exchange it.

I'm 5'11/6 and 150 lbs slim/atheltic build and ordered a size tall S. This is the first time the tall S hasn't been to large or borderline too large (in width) for me and fits as I imagine a tall S should. I ordered the fuchsia/hot pink colour and it's very flattering/bright happy colour for the winter months. Happy with the quality of the material as well. Would recommend for tall slim/athletic builds but if you are tall on the heavy side I recommend sizing up.

Fabric is kinda strange. It's thick, almost shiny, but it feels nice on skin and it washed beautifully, didn't shrink in the dryer on low.
Gap that's not how you do it. You lost my respect. Quality of these t-shirts has drastically gone down. You had a best seller, excellent quality, you could have continued selling them and maintained quality. I must have bought 15 of them in the past few years. But no, you decided to use cheaper, thinner fabric with poor stitching. After one wash, it shrank and the stitches came apart. I bought 4 of these last week, striped and solid. All 4 have thinner fabric and shrunk after one wash. You just lost a customer.
Great style, great fit and great fabric equal perfection!
Get one in every color. This t is very comfortable and and easy shirt to layer with sweaters on cold days. Just toss it in the machine and the dryer and it comes out looking like new! The material is a bit stretchy so it's so comfortable. I have black, white, navy and pink.
I have a lot of these tops, great basic piece, nice boatneck although I would prefer the boatneck to be not as wide on the sides. Still a gret top
I have two of these shirts already in different colours. They are long enough that I can wear them throughout my pregnancy, but also look and fit great when I'm not pregnant. They are thicker, softer, nicer material, and longer as well. The rich ruby red is a beautiful colour. I will return this shirt and try another style.

This is a great twist on the basic T-shirt. The boatneck adds a little bit of interest. The shirts wash well, are true to size, and seem to be of good quality. The petite is a little longer than I expected in the sleeve, and as I am 5'4'', a touch long for petite sizing.

Ordered a small petite for my 5'2", 105 lb. frame. Fits perfectly, especially in body and arm length. The band on the neck line is doubled and lays flat, very comfortable.

I bought four colors to update my closet staples. Smooth fabric, beautiful shape, vibrant colors - the pink is bright and feminine, the red is deep (beautiful for holidays), the navy is super dark, the black is classic. Sleeves are a bit long, but that doesn't bother me - it's the same fit as my previous Gap boatneck tops.
Cozy, cottony, soft long-sleeved polo shirt. Works well layered under other clothing, especially if you're doing outdoor activities in cooler weather. Holds up well after washing.
This color is beautiful and the material feels great. I did have to size up. The medium was a little snug so I ordered a large and it was perfect.

I've been wearing "Boatneck" GAP T-shirts for years now and love the look! I am 5'8"; 125 lbs and I always get the Tall-Medium. It's a personal feel I guess, but to me they dress up your look more than a Crewneck T-shirt does. I like the weight of the knit fabric & they wash well. I always air dry my clothes on a rack, so I've never had any major stinking issues! I purchased the NEW cranberry red & the color is very rich & perfect for Fall & the holidays.

Love this - the fabric, the fit...and the sleeves. Despite being a small size, I love that the sleeves aren't too short. (Many size small shirts have sleeves that don't go past wrists. I find shirts with longer sleeves are cozier in colder months :)

Oh, I love these Modern Boat necks! I have six of them, a few from last year and a couple from this year. The fabric is only getting better and better, soft with a little bit of stretch. I don't dry them so I don't know if they shrink or not. I wear them pretty much every day and also for dressing up. Couldn't recommend more highly.
I love the modern fit, and the deep red color is flattering; it's almost a burgundy. Happy to have it in white, too!
Not my favorite but a great shirt. It's heavier material than the featherweight tees which I love. The fit is somewhat off for me. Small is too tight and medium is a little big. I usually wear a medium. I kept it because I like having some tees that are a bit heavier for cooler weather.

I've always loved the fit/cut of this t-shirt. It's thin enough that it doesn't get too hot, but the long sleeves help keep out the cooler weather. It was a flattering fit when I was thin, and also now that I've put on a few extra pounds. I ordered a couple more as you can't beat the price.

So disappointed, I have bought these T-shirts, long sleeve, short sleeve, for years. Just ordered 1 of each colour and the type of cotton has changed. I find these to be more of a silky feel and not as warm. I actually got a chill when I first tried one on. Previous T's are a nice soft thick warm cotton.

Boat necks are my go-to and this one isn't an exception. It's flattering, form fitting, but still comfortable. Got mine in a navy and black and since I am relatively bustier get it in a Tall. I wish they had more colors but since I like to order from the Tall section that seems to automatically eliminate a lot of options. Great top!
